The branch of Yoga I teach is based on the five principles
of
Sivananda,
- Proper breathing, breath control excercises, good for
focus and concentration.
- Proper relaxation, the sivasana pose
that bridges most exercises disperses the lactic acid that can
linger after workout giving you the uncomfortable ‘burn’.
- Proper
diet, a yogic diet is vegetarian and without stimulants that
allows your body to function optimally for health and vitality.
- Proper
exercise, in Yoga the asana sequences of poses is designed to
stimulate and balance your hormonal system and body chemistry.
- Positive
thinking and meditation, Yoga allows us to function well in a
disturbing world and make the best contribution we can to our
environments.
